When racing in a series on SCORE, regardless of who is the admin, these are the rules to follow. Both for the drivers and the admin. This is to ensure that everyone enjoys the experience of on line racing. Follow the rules to the letter and everyone will be happy and keep racing. Thank you.
NOTE! Rules may be changed at any time, without warning. In case this happens, a public announcement will be made on the forum.
Race Procedure, Connecting & Names!
§ 01 - To participate you need to sign up on SCORE and then tell the admin of the series that you want to participate.
§ 02 - Race name should be a real name. Team tags and handles are for kids. Show up with anything but a real name and you will be booted out.
§ 03 - You should connect to the server during the pre race practice. The practice session before the race is to check that everything is in order. Please be well in time.
§ 04 - Those who have obvious warp and/or lag problems during practice will be asked to leave the server. In less serious cases, they will be asked not to qualify and start last, so that everyone can have a safe start.
§ 05 - The schedule will be kept and if you're not ready when the clock strikes, the race will start without you. Times and schedule must be presented in CET (Central European Time).
§ 06 - If the server should malfunction, the race will count if more than 50% was run and points will be dealt out. If less than 50% was completed, the race will not count and will not be re-scheduled.
General Race!
§ 01 - No contact is allowed at any time. Due to the fact that neither humans, nor Internet is perfect in any way, a nudge or a scratch is not deemed as contact. Anything harder may render a complaint and a punishment.
§ 02 - Contact from behind is always more serious than contact side by side and will be punished thereafter. If you punt someone off, you have to do a manual drive trough. Any contact deemed deliberate will result in an instant ban from SCORE.
§ 03 - The lead car has always right to a corner. If two cars are alongside, the inside car has the right to the corner but may not push the outside car off track on corner exit. Cars are not alongside until the front wheel is beside the opponents front door. If you have let anyone slip that far you may not try to "Close the door".
§ 04 - If you spin off track, safe return to the track is your responsibility. Do not reenter the track when there is incoming traffic. Even if this means letting by the entire field of cars. Even if it wasn't your fault you spun. Penalty for not following this rule is a mandatory drive trough.
§ 05 - If you spin and remain on track, you should remain completely still until all incoming traffic has passed. Even if this means letting by the entire field of cars. Even if it wasn't your fault you spun. Penalty for not following this rule is a mandatory drive trough.
§ 06 - Overtaking is the responsibility of the overtaking car. Do not make a pass unless it's safe to do so. Even if the car in front is slowing you down and even if the car in front is a lap behind.
§ 07 - A driver may not sway back and forth on straights. One 'change of lanes' is allowed to line up for next corner. Deliberate blocking is not allowed and will most probably be punished.
§ 08 - Cars being lapped must give way to lapping cars. A car being lapped should be able to find a good spot to let the lapping car overtake in about three turns, or at the most one lap.
§ 09 - Sudden braking on straights to get an opponent to drive into you (idiot braking or brake checking) is not allowed and is most probably going to get you punished.
§ 10 - You should at all times try to keep two wheels on the track or curbing, or directly above if airborne. This is called the "White Line rule". Two wheels inside track markings at all times.
§ 11 - When leaving pits you need to stay inside the blend line. Cars on track, coming up on a car leaving pits must stay outside the blend line. Cutting the line is punished by one lap added to race result.
§ 12 - Failure to take a penalty Drive Trough will result in one full lap added to your reace result. No one will tell you do the Drive Trough, so take it on your own or lose a lap.
Complaints & Punishments!
§ 01 - Any and all complaints should be sent by PM to the administrator(s) of the series, not later than 24 hours after the race finish.
§ 02 - Admin will deal with the matter in a way s/he see fit. The decision is final and will not be changed. Be sure that s/he try to be fair.
§ 03 - Possible punishments are as follows:
One lap added post race.
Disqualification (last race will not count).
Ban from one race.
Ban from series.
Points
§ 01 - The points are given out according to a 10 to 1 system with the top 8 drivers earning points (FIA Style).
§ 02 - Those who lose connection will receive 0 points. Drivers who get a DNF will get 0 points. Drivers asked to leave server will receive 0 points.
§ 03 - If two drivers should end up with the same amount of points, the one with most wins will claim the top position. If they have equal amount of wins, the amount of second places will be counted and so forth, until a winner can be announced.
General Behavior!
§ 01 - As a driver, you should act as a gentleman or woman at all times. This means treating your fellow racers with respect and courtesy. It also means using no foul language and to never hold a grudge on track.
§ 02 - Chatting during an on line race session is frowned upon so jut don't do it. It's disturbing for other drivers to say the least.
§ 03 - There are no exceptions to the no chat rule. That means no "sorry" or "pitting/pit out" messages of any kind. Keep quiet during qualify and race.
§ 04 - Failure to obey the no chat rules are punished by a kick and ban from that event. One warning only and that's it.
Paints!
§ 01 - Custom paints are allowed but but not mandatory. The driver is the one responsible for the distribution and the announcing of his/her custom paint in the right place on the forum.
§ 02 - Paints must follow the general rules of SCORE. That means no explicit, political or religious themes.
NOTE! Rules may be changed at any time, without warning. In case this happens, a public announcement will be made on the forum.
